All students will receive age-appropriate instruction. Students will learn the following: names and location of horse, saddle and bridle parts; safe approach to and departure from horses when on foot; proper haltering, leading and grooming, including hoof cleaning; the proper fitting and placing of the saddle, bridle and girth; safe mounting and dismounting; one and two-handed rein orientation; riding etiquette; warm-up, balance and space orientation skills; emergency stop and emergency dismount skills. Students will ride at a walk, jog and trot with change of hands.  Student’s will also learn basic lounging techniques.
